Every Dog Club SA Training Journey Begins with an Assessment.
Whether you're struggling with reactivity, aggression, anxiety, obedience or simply want to build a better relationship with your dog, our assessments allow us to understand your dog's behaviour, character and individual needs before recommending the most suitable training pathway.
Choose between an Online Assessment or an In-Person Assessment with Head Trainer Daniel.
1 x Dog per Assessment
Option 1: Online Assessment
Our most affordable and flexible option, ideal for busy dog owners!
Online Assessments allow Daniel to observe your dog's natural behaviour in everyday environments in a 50-minute, 1-on-1 online consultation from the comfort of your home.
HOW IT WORKS:
-
Book Your Assessment – Select the Online Assessment option and book a time.
-
Submit Your Videos – Record and send us short videos of your dog in different environments, following our instructions in email after booking.
-
Meet with Daniel Online – Discuss your dog's behaviour, challenges and training goals during your online consultation.
-
Get Your Training Plan – Receive a recommendation for the most suitable Dog Club SA training pathway.
WHAT VIDEOS WILL YOU NEED?
Short clips of your dog in four situations:
-
At Home – relaxed in a familiar environment.
-
Low Distractions – a quiet street, park or similar location.
-
High Distractions – everyday situations your dog finds challenging.
-
Problem Behaviours – pulling, excitement, nervousness, avoidance, reactivity, aggression or lack of control, only where safe to film.
We don't need perfect footage! Seeing your dog's natural behaviour, including where things aren't going well, helps us better understand what needs improvement.
Where aggression or significant reactivity is involved, never deliberately create an unsafe situation simply for the purpose of filming, instead book an In-Person Assessment.
WHY CHOOSE ONLINE?
-
Save Money – cheaper than an In-Person Assessment.
-
More Availability – including appointments outside standard working hours.
-
No Travel – attend your consultation from home.
-
Flexible Filming – record videos when it suits you.
-
Perfect for Busy Owners – fit the process around work and family.
Option 2: In-Person Assessment - St Marys
Prefer to meet face-to-face? We've got you covered.
Meet Daniel at our St Marys training facility, where he'll observe your dog firsthand and discuss your concerns and goals.
We recommend this option if:
- Your dog displays potentially dangerous or aggressive behaviour that makes filming unsafe.
-
You're not confident using technology to submit videos.
-
You're unable to capture the required footage.
-
You would simply prefer in-person.
Important: If you consider your dog dangerous or feel unsafe recording the required videos, we strongly recommend an In-Person Assessment. Never put yourself, your dog or others at risk to capture footage.
What Happens During Your Assessment?
Both options provide the same personalised approach. Daniel will assess your dog's character, confidence, responsiveness, behaviour and relationship with you, while discussing your goals and the communication, structure and consistency needed for improvement.
He'll then recommend the most suitable Intensive Training or Membership Program for you and your dog.
All practical training takes place in person with Dog Club SA. Your assessment is simply the first step towards a more confident, neutral, balanced and responsive dog.

We recommend Online Assessments for their affordability, convenience and flexibility, but In-Person Assessments are always available for those who need or prefer them.
